Visit of the External Evaluation Committee for the Accreditation of the Undergraduate Programme of the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of West Attica
We inform you that the scheduled on-site visit of the External Evaluation Committee for the Accreditation of the Undergraduate Programme of the Department of Accounting and Finance at the University of West Attica was completed during the week of 13/03 to 17/03/23.
The visit took place on 13 and 14 March 2023 and included meetings of the External Experts Committee with the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Student Welfare and Chair of the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), Professor Efstathia Papageorgiou, the members of the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), the Chair of the Department of Accounting and Finance, Professor Nikolaos Sykinakis, the Internal Evaluation Team (OMEA) of the department, and members of the Academic Staff. The Rector of the University of West Attica, Professor Panagiotis Kaldis, was also present at the meetings. In attendance were also members of the Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP), Special Technical Laboratory Staff (ETEP), student representatives, as well as partners from external public and private sector organisations.
The accreditation process ensures that the undergraduate programme offered by the Department of Accounting and Finance meets all formal standards as set by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE) and in line with European guidelines. It also ensures that the learning outcomes, knowledge, competences, and skills of the programme’s graduates fully meet the expected standards, equipping them with appropriate scientific and professional qualifications.
Purpose of the accreditation process of the Undergraduate Programme of the Department of Accounting and Finance is to guarantee the achievement of high-quality education and the efficient operation of the department, the continuous improvement of its teaching and research work, and the optimal provision of services to students, in accordance with international best practices.
